Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to perform complex design work across building systems. This fully competent engineering professional will make independent technical decisions and apply advanced engineering principles on projects in Rochester or Buffalo, NY.

Responsibilities include planning complex assignments, supervising engineers, developing reports, evaluating equipment, coordinating across trades, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• PE license or EIT preferred
• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent
• Eight years of relevant project engineering experience
• Technical leadership and mentoring junior staff
• Ability to coordinate across design disciplines

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct complex engineering assignments requiring independent judgment
• Supervise, coordinate, and review work of Engineers, Designers, and CAD Operators
• Develop technical reports, studies, and system analyses
• Evaluate substitute equipment and review system adjustments after installation
• Represent the firm in meetings and coordinate across all trades
• Perform engineering designs, calculations, and evaluations with advanced techniques
• Mentor junior engineers and support project technical leadership
