Job summary

ON.energy in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead data center electrical design for hyperscale, colocation, and AI-focused facilities. You will translate customer and site requirements into deployable architectures and reference designs.

Responsibilities include defining single-line diagrams, redundancy models, ICDs, and leading architecture reviews with operators and OEMs, while shaping the technical roadmap and ensuring compliance with IEC/ASHRAE standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field; M.S. preferred.
• 5+ years in data center electrical systems, hyperscale infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with HV/MV distribution, UPS/BESS integration, and data center substation interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Inform end-to-end electrical reference architectures for hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and AI data centers.
• Define single-line diagrams, redundancy models, substation interfaces, and fault-tolerance strategies for UPS, BESS, PCS, microgrid, and EMS integration.
• Establish and enforce Interface Control Documents (ICDs) between ON.energy equipment and upstream utilities, IT load, and site controls.
• Own the requirements traceability matrix from customer SOW to system architecture to subsystem to component test.
