Job summary

CMTA, Inc. in Lafayette, CA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to design electrical systems for energy-efficient buildings and infrastructure projects.

The role requires a PE license, leadership, and the ability to coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors. Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote, with a salary range of $135,000–$220,000 plus bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering Infrastructure Design.
• PE License is required.
• Project management experience and client interfacing.
• Construction administration and submittals experience.
• Experience with power distribution and lighting systems.
• Experience with energy and renewable energy systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Design the electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, and renewable energy systems for bidding and construction.
• Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Interacting with owners, clients, architects, and contractors with verbal and written communication.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques to perform tasks.
• Confer with other engineers and personnel to complete project deadlines.
• Apply knowledge of engineering principles to meet project requirements.
• Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals.
• Research and analyze client design requirements, feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
• Review contractor submittals to determine conformance with contract documents.
