Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA, Boulder, CO, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the bring-up, testing, and integration of PCBAs for advanced instrument platforms. You will review schematics, develop hardware test plans, troubleshoot prototype boards, and work with cross-functional teams to advance product development.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, hands-on hardware debugging, and strong analog/digital design knowledge. Altium Designer experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with board-level hardware development, testing, debug, and integration.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronic systems in a lab environment.
• Ability to develop and execute hardware validation, qualification, and characterization test plans.
• Experience interpreting electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design tools preferred.
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing, assembly processes, DFM, and DFT preferred.
• Experience with EMI/ESD design considerations and compliance best practices preferred.
• Experience with embedded processors, firmware integration, FPGA-based systems, or mixed-signal designs preferred.
• Background in electronic product development, instrumentation, or electromechanical systems preferred.
• Experience creating schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support bring-up, characterization, validation, and integration of new PCBAs for advanced platforms.
• Review existing PCBA designs including schematics and layouts.
• Develop and execute test plans for digital/analog hardware.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis of prototype boards.
• Integrate PCBAs into larger systems and support product development.
• Document test results and Theory of Operation for released designs.
• Implement design updates and release hardware into production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Support multiple NPD programs by adapting hardware architectures.
• Utilize lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, pulse generators, probes, spectrum analyzers).
