Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Bloomington, MN office with a hybrid work model.

You will design building systems for institutional projects across higher education, government, mission critical and healthcare markets, producing construction documentation and leading project teams. Requirements include a minimum of 8 years’ design experience as a registered engineer, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, and a PE license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ design experience as a registered engineer (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
• Experience with complex institutional projects and familiarity with codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, telecom and security.
• Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
• Develop electrical system design calculations.
• Prepare detailed design documents in REVIT.
• Lead a project team and manage projects.
• Coordinate with Owners and Architects.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines.
• Complete code compliance research.
• Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Assist in procurement and client relations development.
