Palmer Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain advanced automotive and IoT-enabled electronics for safety-critical applications.

The role collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams to deliver reliable hardware solutions and drive product lifecycle decisions. Qualifications

• 10+ years in electronics design and hardware development.
• Proficient in PCB layout, schematic creation, and manufacturing documentation.
• Understanding of automotive or vehicle-related electronic systems.
• Experience with embedded communication protocols such as USB, UART, I2C, CAN, Bluetooth, WiFi, and OBD-II.
• Familiarity with PLM tools, Arena experience preferred.
• Effective collaboration with manufacturing and test teams in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Engineer automotive-connected electro-mechanical systems using embedded processors, sensing, and control logic.
• Create and debug mixed-signal hardware from schematics through PCB layout and board bring-up.
• Implement and maintain wired and wireless interfaces including USB, UART, I2C, CAN, Bluetooth, WiFi, cellular, and IoT integrations.
• Collaborate across disciplines to translate requirements into designs and deliver iteratively in agile workflows.
• Integrate custom electronics with commercial hardware while managing configuration, documentation, and product lifecycle.
• Develop validation strategies, build test fixtures, troubleshoot failures with root-cause analysis, and coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve production issues.
