Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to design and develop electrical power and control systems for HVAC chillers, including VFD-driven PM motors and dedicated PM power supplies. This on-site Plymouth, MN role involves leading cross-functional teams, development of schematics, and testing to meet product requirements.

The candidate will plan engineering activities, deliverables, and schedules, and provide technical leadership across product development and reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
• Minimum 7 years of professional electrical engineering experience with power electronics, drives, and controls.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage engineering activities, deliverables, and project schedules.
• Develop specifications for electrical and electronic systems used in chiller products.
• Lead test planning, qualification activities, and performance evaluations.
• Analyze test data and drive design improvements to meet product requirements.
• Provide technical leadership during product development and management reviews.
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive project execution and resolve technical challenges.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality and reliability issues.
• Lead the design, integration, and validation of electrical subsystems for chiller platforms.
• Develop and oversee test equipment, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts in lab and field
