Job summary
Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with healthcare experience to join our Grand Rapids area team. You will develop construction documents, supervise staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals on hospitals, laboratories and medical office buildings.
You will design electrical and lighting systems, perform calculations, conduct site visits, and support projects through planning and construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or equivalent)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or working toward licensure
- Healthcare project experience (hospitals, labs, medical offices)
- Familiarity with NEC, IBC, energy codes, Health Care Facilities Code, Life Safety Code
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams
- Coordinate with clients and stakeholders
- Supervise and mentor design staff
- Manage projects from planning through construction
- Design and specify electrical, lighting, and building systems
- Develop electrical design calculations
- Conduct site visits and field investigations
- Provide construction administration and project support
- Review deliverables for quality standards
- Write proposals and define scopes of services
