Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead hardware design for Lab and Field Instrumentation projects. This role requires deep expertise in mixed-signal design, PCB layout, and regulatory compliance, with ownership from concept through production handoff.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate across disciplines, and drive robust, compliant solutions while meeting critical milestone schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of directly related experience
• Strong background in mixed-signal electrical design
• PCB design and layout best practices
• Hands-on proficiency with electrical CAD tools (Altium preferred)
• Experience with circuit simulation and analysis tools
• Hands-on use of laboratory instrumentation for debug and validation
• Experience with validation and pre-compliance testing
• Ability to author clear technical specifications and test plans
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (FCC/IC, CE, UL)
• Familiarity with sensing technologies and their electrical integration
• Knowledge of building electrical systems (120/240 VAC)
• Strong project execution and cross-functional communication

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic hardware systems and subsystems.
• Deliver designs from concept to prototype, validation, and production release.
• Prepare schematics, drawings, specifications, and documentation to meet standards.
• Develop validation plans and perform functional, stress, environmental testing.
• Root cause analysis and corrective actions for development, production, and field issues.
• Design for manufacturability, testability, and regulatory compliance with cross-functional teams.
• Interface with suppliers and contract manufacturers for qualification and readiness.
• Support project SOWs, schedules, cost estimates, and risk plans.
• Communicate status and technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
• Work evenings and weekends to meet milestones.
