Job summary

V2X, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer I to lead design and integration of ground-based electronic systems combining COTS embedded computers and power architectures.

You will perform schematic capture, board bring-up, and collaborate across teams to ensure reliability. The role requires initiative, strong engineering judgment, and ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 5+ years of exp, or 3+ years with a relevant Master's.
• Experience with system-level hardware design, COTS embedded systems, and power distribution for ground-based equipment.
• ECAD schematic capture and circuit modeling using SPICE, MATLAB, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical design tasks from requirements through release for ground-based assemblies.
• Define and implement power trees for battery and shore power sources.
• Specify, select, and integrate COTS embedded systems and industrial computers.
• Perform schematic capture and component selection using ECAD tools (e.g., Altium).
• Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to ensure signal and power integrity, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.
• Plan and execute board-level bring-up, including staged power-on and functional checks.
• Support RCCA investigations and contribute to design reviews and risk tracking.
• Support production and sustainment activities, including debugging manufacturing defects.
