Job summary

Chemring Energetic Devices in Downers Grove, IL, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer (ESAF) to lead development and qualification of electronic safe and arm devices for mission-critical systems.

You will design, test, and evaluate prototypes, create schematics in Altium, perform circuit simulations, and coordinate with customers and US safety boards, guiding programs from concept through production. A BS in Electrical Engineering is required; a MS is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required; MS preferred.
• 5+ years in electronic fuze, ignition safety devices, or flight termination system development.

Responsibilities

• Develop electronic safe and arm devices through qualification against MIL specs (MIL-1316, MIL-1901, RCC-319).
• Provide design leadership and act as technical point of contact with customers and US safety boards.
• Design, build, test, and evaluate electronic prototypes.
• Conduct circuit simulations and produce schematics; PCB design using Altium.
• Test and troubleshoot electronics and propose solutions.
• Lead technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, PRR) with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop documentation including procedures, SOWs, and BOMs.
• Manage complex programs throughout product life cycle.
