Job summary

Southern Recruiting Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, install, and maintain electrical systems across refinery and utility plants in Atlanta, GA.

This senior role requires 8+ years of experience in chemical/oil & gas or manufacturing settings and a strong background in power distribution, motor controls, and automation. The candidate will ensure compliance with NEC/ NFPA/ OSHA, conduct risk assessments, and lead projects on upgrades and energy efficiency, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in chemical, oil & gas, or manufacturing plant.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, motor controls, and automation systems.
• Familiarity with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Understanding of hazardous area classifications (ATEX, NEC 500/505, IECEx).
• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain electrical systems, power and automation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment including motors, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
• Ensure electrical infrastructure meets operational demands and efficiency goals.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other industry standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement electrical safety protocols.
• Maintain documentation for electrical schematics, permits, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide daily run-and-maintain technical and field support across refinery and utility plants, the distribution network, and cogeneration facilities.
• Lead electrical projects including upgrades, expansions, and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Support reliability initiatives such as predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
