Job summary

This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer, located in Ogden, UT, who will prepare designs for electrical systems associated with DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.

The role will specifically support the USAF Sentinel program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare engineering studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations for electrical systems per codes and contract requirements.
Mentor junior electrical engineers and collaborate with other disciplines.
Develop design drawings using AutoCAD (single lines, panel schedules, schematics, grounding, lightning protection).
Perform power system analysis using ETAP (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Relay Coordination, Arc Flash).
Conduct lighting design, ground grid sizing, ETAP de-rating calculations.
Size equipment such as transformers, panel boards, UPS, and batteries.
Perform NFPA 70 cable sizing and derating calculations.
Develop equipment/material specifications (SpecsIntact).
Prepare procurement documentation and evaluate supplier proposals.
Review vendor submittals and integrate into design.
Coordinate requirements with Systems Engineering and the client.
