Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer to design and implement COTS-based infrastructure for safety-critical applications in Marlborough, MA. The role requires collaboration across hardware engineering, supply chain, and field teams, with occasional domestic and international travel.

Candidate should have a BS in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field and at least five years of relevant experience, with strong Unix/Linux knowledge and a rigorous design/documentation approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline.
• Minimum five years of professional experience.
• Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Experience designing and implementing computing, networking, and IT infrastructure through a rigorous design and documentation process.
• Experience taking a system design concept from requirements to complete COTS-based hardware design and verification.

Responsibilities

• Design COTS hardware infrastructure systems (e.g. X86-based processors).
• Research and select servers, workstations, add-in interface cards, storage devices, and other COTS hardware.
• Engineer BIOS and operating system configuration definitions.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, on-site installation and customers to deliver safety-critical systems.
• Support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel.
