Job summary

Raytheon Technologies in Massachusetts is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Hardware Electrical Engineering team. You will work across the full hardware development lifecycle, supporting digital electronic modules and CCAs for missile applications.

Responsibilities include design, analysis, testing, integration, and troubleshooting of digital circuits, working with processors, FPGAs, memory, and interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Professional experience with digital circuit design.

Raytheon’s Hardware Electrical Engineering team designs, validates, qualifies, and supports production of digital electronic circuit cards and electronic units used in demanding aerospace and defense applications. Our hardware is designed to perform in some of the most extreme environments imaginable—from the freezing vacuum of space to the intense heat of the desert and the pressures of the ocean depths.

What You’ll Do:

As an Electrical Engineer on our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work across the full hardware development lifecycle, supporting digital electronic modules and circuit card assemblies (CCAs) for missile applications.

  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, integrate, and troubleshoot digital electronic modules and circuit card assemblies.
  • Take hardware designs from requirements and block diagrams through detailed design, verification, testing, and integration.
  • Work with processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry-standard interfaces including PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Troubleshoot existing hardware, analyze failures, determine root causes, and develop solutions to challenging technical problems.
  • Collaborate with electrical, systems, mechanical, software, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and quality engineers to deliver reliable hardware that meets demanding requirements.
  • Work with sub-tier suppliers to resolve technical and production issues.
  • Use simulation, analysis tools, and electronic test equipment to validate hardware performance.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects while working with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Communicate technical information through clear documentation and formal presentations.
  • Travel less than 10% annually.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Professional experience with digital circuit design.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience in taking a hardware design from concept, requirements, or block diagram through development, verification, testing, and system integration.
  • Analyzing existing designs, troubleshooting hardware failures, and identifying root causes.
  • Digital electronics and mixed-signal electronics, including RF, analog, and power interfaces.
  • Digital electronics simulation and analysis tools.
  • Electronic test equipment and hardware validation.
  • Processors, FPGAs, memory, and high-speed or industry-standard interfaces.
  • Working with sub-tier suppliers to resolve technical and production challenges.
  • Technical writing and formal presentations.
  • The Aerospace and Defense product development lifecycle.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
