Job summary

Architect of the Capitol in Washington, DC seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, install, maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for the agency.

The role covers engineering design, studies, and project leadership, with emphasis on coordination with consultants, senior technical advisory, and compliance with design standards and safety regulations. Experience with high-voltage systems, field investigations, and AutoCAD is valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• Professional registration (EI/EIT) or PE, or eligibility.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or equivalent.
• Ability to prepare CAD drawings and design documents in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering project support and review consultant designs.
• Provide senior technical advice on electrical systems design, modernization, operation, repair and maintenance.
• Develop requirements and criteria for complex projects and assist project managers.
• Prepare CAD documents in AutoCAD and perform design calculations.
• Conduct electrical engineering studies and investigations, including lighting surveys.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA and AOC rules.
