Job summary

The Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE), seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, install, maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems for the AOC. The role involves leading technical reviews, advising on complex systems, and supporting modernization and operation across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities include guiding installation and testing, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring conformance to AOC standards.

Qualifications

• OPM qualification requirements for GS-11/12/13 levels and specialized experience.
• Specialized experience includes advising on electrical/electronic design, operations and codes.
• Experience in project management within the electrical discipline and contracting roles.

Responsibilities

• Review consultant designs for accuracy and fulfillment of project objectives.
• Act as senior technical resource on installation, testing, commissioning and start-up checkout.
• Provide senior technical advice on electrical/electronic design, modernization and maintenance.
• Prepare requirements/criteria for complex or high-value projects for construction/modification.
• Advise project managers as senior technical advisor on deviations from schedule/budget/scope.
