Job summary

The Leidos Intel Sector is hiring an Electrical Engineer in Reston, Virginia to support reverse engineering and infrastructure assessments within a government contractor environment.

The role requires in-depth electrical system expertise, CAD/BIM proficiency, and a strong focus on high-availability facilities across multiple buildings. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and leadership is essential for successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship required.
• BS degree with 8+ years experience or MS with 6+ years experience; Doctorate possible.
• Proficient in CAD and BIM tools for electrical design.
• Familiarity with MEP, fire protection, communications, controls, and security systems.
• Ability to apply building codes and standards in design and assessment.
• Proven track record designing, developing, testing complex electrical systems.
• Experience with commercial/industrial control systems.
• Deep understanding of high availability multi-building electrical facilities operations.
• Strong cross-functional communication with leadership and clients.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex electrical system issues and respond to customer/end-user requests for information.
• Assess functionality of electrical systems and present system vulnerabilities, impacts and outline possible cascading effects.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and leadership for infrastructure-related decisions.
• Develop, interpret, and implement the use of software tools and AI tools to carry out facility condition assessments.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Provides professional electrical engineer inputs on infrastructure design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance matters.
• Provide electrical engineering review of building and facility power distribution, communications, controls, telecommunication and security system.
• Provide design of electrical systems to support power, communications, controls, fire protection and fire alarm systems, HVAC, and water systems.
• Perform electrical engineering studies to determine vulnerabilities of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, communications, and security systems.
• Develop standard operating procedures for design, testing, and development of electrical equipment and systems
