Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Boise, ID. You will provide leadership for electrical design projects, manage schedules and budgets, and mentor junior engineers. Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer – Boise, ID

Providing senior technical leadership and oversight as part of the Northwest Cities & Places team, responsible for designing and delivering building projects for healthcare, government/public agency, advanced facilities, transit and water market clients.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Engineering of Record and/or Discipline Lead for electrical design projects, preparing and directing design teams, and serving as Quality Control reviewer.
  • Manage electrical engineering design project schedule, budget, and delegation of work, mentoring junior engineers.
  • Design full low and medium voltage electrical systems, including power, fire detection, telecommunications, audio/visual, signaling, lighting, and associated control systems.
  • Prepare load analyses, basis of design reports, and energy compliance documentation.
  • Select and prepare specifications for electrical equipment and fixtures.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines, architects, interiors teams and client consultants.
  • Perform construction contract administration, field investigation tasks, and respond to RFIs, submittals and change requests.
  • Maintain confidentiality for clients and projects when required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho.
  • 15+ years of electrical engineering experience including low and medium voltage systems for MEP firms.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, SKM/eTap Power Tools, AGI32 Lighting Analysis, Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of NFPA Codes (70, 70E, 99, 101, 110, etc.), FGI Guidelines, LEED guidelines, and sustainability integrated design.
  • Working knowledge of other building systems (door finish hardware, IT communications, lighting controls, BAS networks).
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • Project Management experience including proposal development, contracting, risk management.
  • Industrial, airport, laboratory, lightning protection, and security system design experience (preferred).

Compensation
