Job summary

Velo3D is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Fremont to research, develop, design, test and document electrical components and systems for capital equipment. You will work independently and as part of a team to support advanced manufacturing equipment projects.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical systems design, extensive ECAD experience with Solidworks Electrical, and hands-on prototyping and installation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or related field or higher.
• 5+ years of experience in Electrical Systems Design and Development.
• 5+ years of ECAD experience (Solidworks Electrical).
• Experience designing electrical systems for complex capital equipment (additive, semiconductor, or displays).
• Hands-on prototyping, troubleshooting, manufacturing, or installation of capital equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design and document Electrical Systems and Components (cable, wire harness, panels, cable routing).
• Create test plans and validate electrical systems.
• Maintain schematics and interconnect diagrams; manage supplier for prototype electrical assemblies.
• Support supply chain for end-of-life and obsolescence of components.
• Drive documentation of design (BOM, drawings, procedures) and lead small to mid-sized projects.
