The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical design and development of high‑speed, high‑precision semiconductor assembly equipment, specifically Die Bonders. This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams—including process, mechanical, software, and systems engineering—to define subsystem specifications, design electronic circuits and interconnections, and perform debugging at both module and system levels. The position will also involve system integration of designs developed internally as well as by external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and debug electrical systems for industrial semiconductor equipment.
- Design of cabling and interconnections between electronics modules. Use wide range of connectors and define cable gauge selection.
- Develop high speed interconnect for digital communication buses using EtherCAT, I2C, Ethernet and USB protocols.
- Develop interconnect and cables for industrial control systems using motor controllers, I/O controllers, solenoids, switches, and sensors.
- Create and maintain wiring diagrams and electrical interconnections aligned with existing system architectures; modify or develop new architectures to meet evolving design requirements.
- Create BOMs, learn data management system Teamcenter and use it to release products doing ECOs and maintaining changes because of troubleshooting, obsoletion of parts, copy‑exact requirement, and feedback from production.
- Collaborate effectively with external vendors and contractors on outsourced design and integration activities.
- Work with procurement / purchasing to make sure cable drawings and BOM are up to date for manufacturing and implement ECO at the supplier, working with purchasing.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Develop technically sound and cost‑effective electrical design solutions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in interconnect, cabling harness design.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, including motors, sensors, solenoids, digital communication protocols.
- Proven experience in generating BOMs, creating and implementing ECOs.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Preferred Tools and Technologies
Experience with the following tools or equivalent systems is highly desirable:
- Altium Designer (schematic capture and PCB layout)
- Teamcenter or any Product Data Management (PDM) system
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering / Mechatronics concentration with a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience
- OR
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering / Mechatronics concentration with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience
