The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical design and development of high‑speed, high‑precision semiconductor assembly equipment, specifically Die Bonders. This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams—including process, mechanical, software, and systems engineering—to define subsystem specifications, design electronic circuits and interconnections, and perform debugging at both module and system levels. The position will also involve system integration of designs developed internally as well as by external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, and debug electrical systems for industrial semiconductor equipment.
- Design and develop complex Analog / digital electronic circuits and subsystems using microcontrollers and FPGAs
- Create schematics, PCB layouts, and interface architectures. Perform circuit simulation, validation, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Develop high-speed digital interfaces using EtherCAT, TCP/IP, USB, I2C and SPI communication protocols.
- Develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers, DSPs, and real-time control systems. Program in C, C++, and other embedded development environments, Implement real-time control algorithms and machine interfaces. Support system bring-up, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Create Wiring diagram of different modules of the semiconductor assembly equipment, identify cables and define cable sizing for cable harnesses. Create BOMs, learn data management system Teamcenter and use it to release products doing ECOs and maintaining changes because of troubleshooting, obsoletion of parts, copy-exact requirement, and feedback from production.
- Collaborate effectively with external vendors and contractors on outsourced design and integration activities.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Develop technically sound and cost‑effective electrical design solutions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, including motors, sensors, solenoids, digital communication protocols.
- Proven experience in embedded systems, real time control system, firmware development using microcontrollers and FPGAs.
- Relevant experience with wiring diagram, creating schematics, BOMs and cable harnessing.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Preferred Tools and Technologies
Experience with the following tools or equivalent systems is highly desirable:
- Altium Designer (schematic capture and PCB layout)
- Intel FPGA, Renesas, Microchip, TI, Analog devices microcontrollers and DSPs
- Teamcenter or any Product Data Management (PDM) system
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience
- OR
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
