Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Buildings) to lead electrical design on building projects in Boise, Idaho. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, establish client relations, and serve as the electrical lead on multiple initiatives.

Required are a PE license and 10+ years in building electrical design, with strong AutoCAD and Office skills. HDR values employee ownership and collaborative innovation across projects and communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems) is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position is required.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with a multidiscipline team throughout the project's development.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design and production meetings for electrical systems.
• Assume the electrical lead on many projects.
• Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct sessions at the project site with the Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule.
• Track project finances and coordinate effort to stay within budget.
• Work with Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with management.
• Direct activities of other electrical engineers and mentor staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
