Senior Electrical Engineer - Battery and Power

Responsibilities

Lead the design, prototyping, manufacturing, testing and qualification of a satellite battery system including the battery pack, as well as charging, discharging, and Battery Management System (BMS). Work closely with the power systems engineering and mechanical engineering teams to develop a complete, flight‑ready solution.

Qualifications (required)
  • BS or higher in electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience developing lithium chemistry battery systems
  • 5+ years of experience designing DC-DC power converters and/or battery chargers
  • Experience with industry standard electrical engineering and layout tools
  • Located in the Portland, OR metro area (or willing to relocate)
Qualifications (preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience developing lithium chemistry battery systems
  • 10+ years of experience designing DC-DC power converters and/or battery chargers
  • Experience with multi‑kilowatt power systems
  • Experience with spacecraft power systems (PCDUs, solar arrays, etc.)
  • Knowledge of aerospace qualification processes
  • Knowledge of aerospace reliability analysis and industry practices
  • Deep knowledge of battery chemistries and performance parameters
  • Experience with rapid prototyping
  • Experience with Altium, SIMPLIS, etc.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $125,000-210,000. When determining an individual’s compensation, we consider several factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data, so pay for this role may vary from the amounts listed.
