Job summary

Acron Aviation in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design defect resolution on the Recorders Zero Defect team. You will analyze schematics, PCBs, and CCAs, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve robustness, yield, and cost.

You will work with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Test to validate root causes, support corrective actions, and drive design improvements across products and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in electrical design, hardware engineering, or failure analysis.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of electronic assemblies and CCAs.
• Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and component data sheets.
• Experience investigating failures and validating corrective actions.
• Knowledge of structured problem solving (A3, RCCA, 5-Why, Fishbone, PDCA).
• Ability to collaborate across Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical investigations of recurring defects with electrical or electronic design causes.
• Analyze schematics, PCB/CCA layouts, and component specs to identify failure mechanisms.
• Determine whether failures originate from design, component, supplier, or process factors.
• Identify design-margin, derating, signal integrity, thermal, and testability issues.
• Develop recommendations to improve robustness, manufacturability and yield.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on root-cause validation and actions.
