Job summary

Carbon Robotics, based in Seattle, WA, seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to architect, test, and support electrical power systems, sensors, and control networks across our LaserWeeder and autonomous platform family.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient products for global farmers. Expect hands-on hardware debugging, field visits, and leadership of electrical projects from concept through production.

Qualifications

  • 6–15 years experience architecting and designing complex electrical systems.
  • Experience with high voltage (<1000V) and low voltage (<50V) power generation and distribution.
  • Sensor/actuator integration into control systems in automotive, agricultural, or aerospace domains.
  • Experience designing for harsh outdoor environments and protection against mechanical, thermal, corrosion and ESD damage.
  • Hands-on hardware debugging and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience managing electrical aspects of projects through contract manufacturing.
  • Leadership experience is highly desired.
  • Experience with Altium, AutoCAD Electrical, Capital Harness, SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop requirements and define electrical system architectures, incorporating stakeholder inputs.
  • Own systems from cradle to grave including testing, production introduction, and post-sale support.
  • Prototype, debug, and iterate electrical designs through hands-on testing and automated verification.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and software teams for seamless integration of subsystems.
  • Drive technical decisions through project planning, task delegation, and cross-functional problem solving.
  • Support contract manufacturers and provide technical guidance for production of electrical assemblies.
  • Investigate failures to identify and remedy root causes.
