Iris Technology Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer III in Irvine, CA to own hardware development from concept through bring-up and verification. The role focuses on analog, digital, and power electronics with opportunities to work on cryocooler controls, FPIE, or high-reliability aerospace projects.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of hands-on experience, strong circuit design skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering teams to deliver reliable hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant electronic hardware design experience.
• Demonstrated strength in at least one area: analog/mixed-signal design, digital hardware design, or power electronics.
• Experience taking circuit or PCB designs from concept through prototype bring-up and verification.
• Proficiency with schematic capture, circuit analysis or simulation, and laboratory test equipment.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve hardware design issues.
• Ability to work independently on assigned designs and communicate technical decisions across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Own circuit and board-level designs, including requirements definition, architecture, schematic development, component selection, and PCB layout guidance.
• Design analog, digital, mixed-signal, and/or power circuitry aligned with your expertise and assigned products.
• Perform circuit simulations and design analyses to verify performance, margins, and reliability.
• Lead hands-on board bring-up, troubleshooting, integration, and design verification.
• Develop test procedures and document results demonstrating compliance with product requirements.
• Prepare and present technical analyses, design review packages, and engineering recommendations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware/software, systems, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver producible, reliable hardware.
• Support qualification, production transition, and resolution of hardware issues.
