Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Colorado and Texas is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to lead the design, development, and validation of electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense programs. You will oversee circuit card assemblies, wiring design, testing, and debugging, while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of experience, proficiency in Altium Designer, PCB fabrication, IPC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role.
• Advanced proficiency in electrical/electronic design and validation techniques.
• Experience with CAD tools and PCB design standards (IPC CID/CID+).
• Ability to read schematics and apply best practices for PCB design.
• Experience with I2C, RS-485, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, PCIe communication protocols.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense projects.
• Oversee testing and validation of electronic systems and components; lead design reviews.
• Mentor and train junior engineers; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and designs.
