Job summary

Curtiss-Wright PacStar seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Portland, OR to lead electrical design for rugged networking hardware. You will own electrical development from concept through PCB/PCBA, including high-speed signals, power and microprocessor support.

Requirements include 10+ years of board design, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on experience with Altium and MIL-STD. Join a team delivering PacStar 400 series modules for DoD applications.

Qualifications

10+ years direct design experience of circuit boards.
BS in Electrical Engineering required.
Experience in High Speed Digital design >1Gig.
PCB layout, placement, stackup, fabrication and assembly experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with EMI/EMC and ESD testing preferred.

Responsibilities

Translate product level requirements into implementable circuits.
Collaborate with Mechanical, Systems, and Management to develop electrical solutions.
Define electrical implementation alternatives and discuss tradeoffs.
Design electrical solutions for PacStar products using Altium for PCB/PCBA packages for prototypes and production.
Design low-power, multi-voltage circuits (2–60W; 3, 5, 12, 48 VDC).
Work with cross-functional teams to address thermal and fitment issues.
Layout boards in Altium and coordinate with internal and external resources for fabrication.
