Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a client in the West Palm Beach area. The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, planning, and execution of complex electrical engineering projects from concept through construction. This role develops comprehensive engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, studies, reports, calculations, and cost estimates for systems such as power distribution, standby generation, lighting, communications, security, fire alarm, and control systems.

The engineer collaborates closely with clients, architects, contractors, multidisciplinary design teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical requirements, client objectives, quality standards, and schedule commitments. Responsibilities include conducting field investigations, evaluating existing site conditions, performing engineering analyses, preparing feasibility studies, developing equipment specifications, and providing technical recommendations. The position also supports construction-phase services by reviewing contractor submittals, monitoring project progress, interpreting plans and specifications, resolving field issues, verifying code compliance, and ensuring successful project delivery. In addition, the Senior Electrical Engineer may serve as a Project Manager or Resident Engineer, oversee project budgets and schedules, supervise designers and technical staff, mentor junior team members, maintain strong client relationships, and contribute to business development efforts.

Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, project management skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Relocation package is available for candidates looking to relocate to West Palm Beach/south Florida

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • -5+ years’ experience within Electrical Engineering for commercial building services projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • -Active Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT in state of FL.
  • If PE in another state, able to obtain Florida PE within first year of employment
  • -Strong understanding and knowledge of industry and national codes and standards including but not limited to NEC, Life Safety Code NFPA 101, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE and International Building Code - Willingness to travel for site surveys, project scope walks and meetings, about 30% of the time.
