Job summary

ProspectBlue seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for their client in VA. You will own four-quadrant FOC/SVPWM inverters from 80–400+ V, tens of kW, with sealed packaging for aerospace vibration/thermal environments.

You will lead schematic-to-bring-up, drive layout reviews, EMI/thermal debugging, and production testing. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in motor drives or HV power stages, experience with mixed-signal high-dv/dt boards, and lab fluency with scopes and analyzers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years on motor drives or HV power stages.
• Experience with mixed-signal, high-dv/dt boards (Altium or equivalent).
• Lab fluency: scopes, current probes, power analyzers, thermal cameras, dyno or equivalent.
• Bonus: SiC, DO-160, CAN, isolated comms, hybrid-electric or eVTOL programs.

• Own schematic-to-bring-up: SiC/Si MOSFET inverters, gate drive, isolated sensing, DC link, protection, thermal path
• Design for 80–400+ V, tens of kW peak, four-quadrant regen, sealed packaging, and aerospace vibration/thermal environments
• Get the analog front end right (current sense, offset, bandwidth, isolation, ADC integrity)
• Drive layout review, prototyping, EMI/thermal debug, and production test
• Help stand up the next voltage and power class, including 800 V-class work already underway

Our client builds high-voltage motor controllers that are already flying and running in the field on electric aircraft and marine platforms. You'll own four-quadrant FOC/SVPWM inverters spanning low-voltage to 400 V-class systems at tens of kW. Everything is designed, assembled, and tested in-house. Lead times are measured in weeks, not years. Your schematic leaves the building.

What you'll do

• Own schematic-to-bring-up: SiC/Si MOSFET inverters, gate drive, isolated sensing, DC link, protection, thermal path
• Design for 80–400+ V, tens of kW peak, four-quadrant regen, sealed packaging, and aerospace vibration/thermal environments
• Get the analog front end right (current sense, offset, bandwidth, isolation, ADC integrity), because FOC depends on it
• Drive layout review, prototyping, EMI/thermal debug, and production test
• Help stand up the next voltage and power class, including 800 V-class work already underway

What you bring
