Job Title: Electrical Engineer [Power Systems Studies P.E. Manager]

Location: Houston, TX (hybrid/remote)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview:

My client is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) Manager with 10–20 years of experience in electrical power systems. This Houston-based role involves leading system studies, managing client projects, and mentoring junior engineers (EITs) toward PE licensure. Travel to client sites and industry events is expected based on workload.

This is a hybrid role based in Houston, but can also be made fully remote.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and conduct power system studies (short circuit, arc flash, load flow, relay coordination, etc.)
• Serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects
• Specify and review electrical equipment (MCCs, switchgear, substations)
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70/70E, and industry standards
• Manage and mentor EITs, reviewing their work and supporting licensure progress
• Interface with clients and lead project execution
• Attend conferences and maintain/expand PE licensure as needed

Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 10–20 years of experience in electrical design and studies
• Proficient with SKM and ETAP; SEL relay experience is a plus
• Experience in Oil & Gas, power generation, or energy infrastructure
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
