Job summary

Singer Vehicle Design in Torrance, CA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical system development for Porsche 911 restorations. You will design schematics and 3D CAD, build prototypes, and drive testing and validation across programs.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in automotive electrical engineering, CATIA proficiency, and experience with data acquisition systems. The role requires collaboration, problem-solving, and occasional travel to supplier sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in automotive electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience with Porsche air cooled engines is a plus.
• Proficiency with CATIA or similar CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Identify requirements, develop concepts, create schematics/3D CAD for electrical systems across vehicle programs.
• Use lab equipment to root cause issues and identify solutions.
• Design CAD elements to support R&D in product development.
• Design and create prototype circuit boards and wiring harnesses.
• Develop, document, and implement test procedures for electrical components and wiring, including release processes.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to support electrical/software testing and systems integration.
• Develop work instructions for manufacturing operations.
• Support sourcing of new components with technical input.
• Travel occasionally for testing, supplier visits or issue resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do:

Who We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree on Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field
• Six (6) or more years of related experience in automotive electrical engineering, or related field
• Experience with Porsche air cooled engines
• CATIA, or similar CAD software
• Coding experience
• Experience with professional engine control and data acquisition systems, hardware, and software tools such as MoTec, Emtron and AEM
• Strong diagnostics skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
• Ability to work effectively in a small group of focused and talent engineers
• High level of computer literacy
• Experience with data analysis and interpretation
• Ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others
• Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet multiple deadline
• Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaborative skills with the ability to prioritize efficiently and effectively within and across departments

The starting pay range for this position is between $117,386.00 - $156,515.00 annual salary, plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
