Job description

DEPCOM Power is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. This position will play a pivotal role in the design and development of Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) power plants. The role will act as a more senior level member of the team mentoring and collaborating with other team members to complete project designs and ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will possess a PE license. This position offers an opportunity to deepen your expertise in various electrical engineering disciplines, including DC, Medium Voltage (MV), and High Voltage (HV) design. You will receive direct mentorship and hands-on experience, accelerating your professional growth and industry knowledge.

This role can sit in either our Bedminster, NJ or Scottsdale, AZ offices.

This position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee electrical designs for Solar and Energy Storage Power Plants from inception to completion, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with other team members to create comprehensive electrical drawing packages for PV and Energy storage projects from 30% design through Issue For Construction (IFC).
  • Conduct and document system loss analyses, grounding studies, arc flash assessments, and ampacity calculations.
  • Collaborate with other team members in drafting engineered specifications to assist in procurement for assigned projects.
  • Provide engineering support to the construction team, addressing owner, subcontractor, and field RFIs.
  • Perform analyses for various installation architectures, grounding schemes, and major equipment.
  • Collaborate with project delivery teams and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Engage with clients and other stakeholders to support the design and delivery of power plants.
  • Ensure design compliance with contract specifications and scope of work.
  • Travel up to 15% to job sites as required.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline paired with relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and NFPA 70E.
  • Experience in the construction industry and/or with Engineering Procurement and Construction projects.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Previous supervisor experience within a supply chain role
  • Experience in implementing/upgrading a supply chain program through process improvements
  • Experience working in the construction, EPC, or natural gas industry
  • Experience in implementing/upgrading a supply chain program through process improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with internal disciplines and vendors

For this role, we anticipate paying $100k- $140k per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
