Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company are delivering the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for PEJ. Bechtel will act as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor, responsible for design of the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as construction of the entire facility.

Job Summary:

Senior Electrical Engineer with solid experience in electrical systems and layout design. Strong organizational, teamwork, communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills. Works with electrical engineers, designers, and other disciplines in a team environment.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical system engineering activities, including use of ETAP.
  • Interpret all engineering discipline drawings, wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, system descriptions, calculations, and schematics; size equipment and conduct cable sizing calculations.
  • Produce engineering design documents, specifications, material requisitions, and system descriptions in accordance with codes & standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop and modify electrical components and processes for generation, transmission, and storage of electricity using EDPs, BSAPs, and design standards.
  • Coordinate electrical engineering efforts with specialty groups, disciplines, client, vendors, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.
  • Assist project and construction management in identifying and complying with electrical requirements and addressing issues during execution.
  • Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8‑10 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Authorized to live and work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Ability to complete pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
  • Professional Engineering License (Electrical).
  • Prior experience in a nuclear, quality, and safety environment.
  • Experience in nuclear plant design (power plant or DOE facility).
  • Experience with quality assurance programs such as ASME‑NQA‑1, MIL‑Q‑9858A, or ISO‑9000.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Office and other computer programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of NEC code, ANSI/IEEE Standards, electrical systems, schematics, and equipment layouts.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, system calculations, equipment sizing, and cable sizing.
  • Experience with ETAP and other electrical system design tools (CAD 2‑D, cable design and routing software).
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Bechtel standard programs, EDPs, and BSAPs.
  • Experience in construction interface and resolving field problems.
  • Experience with nuclear power plant design.
