Job summary

RocketForce Technologies LLC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The role involves developing electronics for space power and electric propulsion systems, with power ranges from tens of watts to hundreds of kilowatts, including analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuitry.

The position can be based at Canoga Park, CA or Redmond, WA. You will contribute across the product lifecycle from proposal and feasibility to design, testing, production, and follow-on support,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Electronics or related discipline with 6+ years of experience.
• Graduate degree with 4+ years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect solutions to complex power converter challenges.
• Perform detailed circuit design & development including architecture, analysis, worst-case, simulation, and PCB layout oversight.
• Power up new circuit boards and perform verification, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to proposals, feasibility studies, trade studies, and proof of concept development.
• Train, mentor, and lead other engineers to drive continuous improvement.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Must be able to obtain a US security clearance.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Salary Range: $120,000.00 To $165,000.00 Annually

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. Position can be filled at either our Canoga Park, CA or our Redmond, Washington facility.

In this role, you will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge electronics for space power and electric propulsion systems. Our power systems range from tens of Watts to hundreds of kilowatts, incorporating a variety of power, low voltage analog, high voltage analog, mixed signal, and digital circuitry.

Your excellent communication skills, creativity, passion, and broad technical expertise will empower you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, software, system, test, and program management. You will be involved in all phases of product development, from proposal and concept feasibility to design, testing, production, and follow-on support.

Essential Functions:

• Architect solutions to complex power converter challenges.
• Perform detailed circuit design and development including architecture, analysis, worst case analysis, simulation, and PCB layout oversight to convert your ideas into physical hardware.
• Perform initial power up of new circuit board designs and perform detailed verification, integration, and troubleshooting to ensure designs are functioning as intended.
• Contribute to electronics proposals, feasibility studies, trade studies, and proof of concept development to support current programs and ensure future program successes.
• Train, mentor, and lead other engineers to ensure we are all on a continual improvement path.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Candidate must be able to obtain a US security clearance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics or related engineering/scientific discipline and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Master of Science degree
• Experience learning and adapting to changing technologies, tools, requirements, and methodologies.
• Proficiency in DC to DC converter and other Power converter design and development.
• Proficiency in analysis and tuning of feedback and feedforward control systems used in power applications, such as voltage regulators, current controllers, and power converters. This includes techniques such as PID tuning, gain and phase margin analysis, and Bode plot interpretation.
