ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (may include but are not limited to):
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on moderately complex projects.
- Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and related materials.
- Assist in resolving design problems, including field investigations, inspections, detailed design work, and checking design computations.
- Build and maintain a network of clients, managing relationships and satisfaction.
- Participate in developing and expanding the team through strategic planning and marketing efforts.
- Draft cost estimates, periodic reports, and documentation for construction activities and final payments.
- Make design recommendations and modifications based on field conditions.
- Support marketing efforts with technical information.
- Act as a technical resource for Airport and MEP team requests related to low voltage systems.
- Develop low voltage design templates, standards, and guidelines to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Evaluate contractor performance and compliance with documents.
- Coordinate utility infrastructure requirements into low voltage designs.
- Plan and design low voltage systems, including layouts, wiring diagrams, and equipment selection.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing feedback and managing workload.
- Note: Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Desirable: RCDD, Infocomm CTS, Revit.
- Knowledge of building codes and related industry standards.
- Experience with low voltage systems (fire alarm, security, access, video, CCTV, communications, network).
- Experience in airport projects is desirable.
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY, AND SKILLS
- Familiarity with TIA/EIA standards.
- Ability to resolve complex design issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Strong English language skills.
LICENSURE
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory record.
- Professional Engineer license, with ability to obtain Florida licensure within six months.
- Ability to become licensed in multiple states is preferred.
