Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for one of our clients in the medical device space to join a highly collaborative engineering team developing and supporting sophisticated medical device technologies.

This role combines electrical hardware design, testing, troubleshooting, and compliance to support both new and existing products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, safety, and reliability across devices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
  • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong background in electrical hardware design and test execution.
  • Experience troubleshooting PCBAs, circuits, and electronic systems.
  • Hands-on use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers.
  • Experience with soldering, rework, and bench-level debugging.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering activities for new and sustaining products.
  • Execute electrical testing and validation on PCBAs and finished systems.
  • Investigate and resolve complex hardware issues through root cause analysis.
  • Support safety and EMC compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with external testing laboratories and internal stakeholders.
  • Evaluate component changes, obsolescence, and design modifications.
  • Develop test plans, engineering documentation, and technical reports.
  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative technology to market.

In this role, you'll combine electrical hardware design, testing, troubleshooting, and compliance expertise to support both new and existing products. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory affairs, and supply chain to ensure products meet rigorous performance, safety, and reliability standards.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or defense
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 safety standards
  • Experience supporting EMC/EMI testing and compliance activities
