Job summary

EnerSys Advanced Systems, a division of EnerSys, seeks a Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer to design, validate, and bring to production advanced PCBAs for power electronics and hybrid systems. The role requires strong schematic capture in Altium Designer and hands-on high-voltage, high-power experience.

You will collaborate across firmware, mechanical, and systems teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and testing PCBAs for power electronics.
  • 5+ years using Altium Designer for schematic capture and multi-layer layouts.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, including switching converters and motor drives.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and fabrication/assembly processes.
  • Familiarity with IPC, UL, CE and testing best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design of PCBAs for power electronics such as DC-DC converters, motor drives, and hybrid systems.
  • Use Altium Designer for schematic capture, multi-layer layouts, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform simulations and analyses (SPICE, thermal, SI/PI) to ensure integrity.
  • Optimize designs for thermal management, EMC, and DFM.
  • Prototype bring-up, testing, validation and troubleshooting of hardware.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and systems teams for integrated solutions.
  • Create documentation for designs, tests and certifications

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineer to design, develop, and validate advanced PCBAs for power electronics and hybrid systems applications. This role demands strong expertise in schematic capture, PCB layout using Altium Designer, and a deep understanding of power systems engineering. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with high-voltage, high-power designs and the ability to take projects from concept through production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of PCBAs for power electronics applications, including DC-DC converters, motor drives, and hybrid energy systems.
  • Utilize Altium Designer to perform schematic capture, multi-layer PCB layout, and prepare complete manufacturing documentation.
  • Conduct design simulations and analyses (SPICE, thermal, SI/PI) to ensure electrical, mechanical, and thermal integrity.
  • Optimize designs for thermal management, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and manufacturability (DFM).
  • Perform hands-on prototype bring-up, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of developed hardware.
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
  • Author clear documentation for designs, test procedures, and compliance certifications
Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experienced designing and testing PCBAs for power electronics applications.
  • 5+ years of experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and complex multi-layer PCB layouts.
  • Strong working knowledge of power electronics principles, including switching converters, motor drives, battery management, and hybrid energy systems.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM), and familiarity with fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as IPC, UL, CE, and best practices for compliance and testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience designing for high-voltage(>400VDC) or high-power(>5kW) applications.
  • Expertise with thermal design techniquesand EMI/EMC mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with firmware and embedded systems development for hardware validation (even at the troubleshooting level).
  • Experience with system-level integration involving power management and control architectures.
