  • Serve as Engineer of Record; coordinate with all disciplines and outside consultants.
  • Interface with code officials and contractors.

Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer

DeWberry is actively seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Jackson, MS. If you are a Professional Engineer with over 8 years of progressive experience in electrical design, particularly in power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems, this is your opportunity to lead exciting projects and mentor the next generation of engineers.

In this pivotal role, you will provide crucial technical guidance and training to our design team, ensuring the successful implementation of electrical systems across a variety of private, public, and federal projects. You will assist Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client's desires and budget, and collaborate with electrical, architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines to deliver comprehensive services on time and within budget. This position reports to the Electrical Discipline Manager.

Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field); Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 8+ years of technical experience in electrical system design with oversight on multiple projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems.
  • Ability to provide quality oversight, technical guidance, and training for design staff.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
  • Experience providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards on time and within budget.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
