Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in offshore, subsea, marine, or industrial automation environments.
  • Experience designing and integrating subsea equipment, marine electrical systems, and vessel interfaces.
  • Experience developing electrical integration, commissioning, FAT, and SAT procedures.
  • Proficiency with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of subsea power distribution, instrumentation, controls, and fiber-optic interfaces.
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEC, NFPA, marine electrical standards.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, Altium, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering activities for PROD systems upgrades and field support projects.
  • Develop and review electrical deliverables: schematics, wiring diagrams, power system analyses.
  • Support design and integration of mechanical/electrical/fiber-optic umbilical systems.
  • Develop vessel electrical interface requirements and power studies.
  • Design and integrate LV/HV power distribution for subsea operations.
  • Develop integration, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and system readiness procedures.
  • Provide technical support to offshore operations and root cause investigations.
  • Review vendor documentation and interface drawings for compliance.
  • Ensure NEC, IEC, NFPA and maritime standards compliance.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, controls, software, and operations teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and maintain engineering documentation.
  • Stay current with emerging offshore, subsea, and marine electrical systems.

Job description

We are hiring for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Houston. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design, specification, integration, commissioning, and lifecycle support of electrical, control, and power systems used in offshore and subsea operations. This position offers the opportunity to see designs through the full project lifecycle, from concept and engineering through fabrication, testing, mobilization, and field deployment.

Duties
  • Lead electrical engineering activities for new and existing PROD systems, equipment upgrades, and field support projects
  • Develop and review electrical engineering deliverables including:
  • Schematics
  • Wiring and interconnection diagrams
  • Power system analyses
  • Technical specifications and procurement documentation
  • Support the specification, design, and integration of mechanical/electrical/fiber-optic umbilical systems
  • Develop vessel electrical interface requirements, power studies, and mobilization engineering packages
  • Design and integrate low-voltage and high-voltage power distribution systems supporting subsea operations
  • Develop electrical integration, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and system readiness procedures
  • Provide technical support to offshore operations, mobilizations, troubleshooting efforts, and root cause investigations
  • Review vendor documentation, equipment submittals, and interface drawings for technical compliance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable NEC, IEC, NFPA, maritime, and customer-specific requirements
  • Coordinate closely with mechanical, controls, software, and operations teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions
  • Support HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, design reviews, and risk assessments
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians and provide technical leadership throughout project execution
  • Maintain engineering documentation, configuration management, and version control of electrical systems
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices related to offshore, subsea, and marine electrical systems
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in offshore, subsea, marine, or industrial automation environments
  • Demonstrated experience designing and integrating subsea equipment, marine electrical systems, and vessel interfaces
  • Experience developing electrical integration, commissioning, FAT, and SAT procedures
  • Strong background creating and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction documentation
  • Working knowledge of subsea power distribution, instrumentation, communications, control systems, and fiber-optic interfaces
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, IEC, NFPA, and applicable marine electrical standards
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, Altium, or similar engineering design tools
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present technical information to stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally as required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferred
  • Experience with DNV, ABS, or other marine classification standards, preferred
  • Experience with subsea power systems, ROV systems, intervention systems, or offshore construction support, preferred
  • Familiarity with offshore fabrication, vessel mobilization, and commissioning activities, preferred
  • Experience supporting global offshore operations and field deployments, preferred
