  • Design and implement sophisticated systems involving switchgears, transformers, and distribution panels, ensuring seamless power flow.
  • Conduct critical short circuit and voltage drop calculations, guaranteeing system integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Determine conduit and conductor sizing, cable tray management, and the integration of redundancy and backup systems, including UPS, to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including structural, process/chemical, mechanical, and architectural engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Conduct field verifications and site walks, turning design concepts into tangible solutions and resolving on-site challenges during construction.
  • Identify potential risks or issues that could impact the project scope or timeline and coordinate strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Champions, mentors, and coaches the development of our less experienced staff and looks for ways to elevate the technical and professional expertise of the team.

Qualifications

  • An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of practice or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of employment is required.
  • Experience in designing low and medium voltage power distribution for normal, emergency, uninterruptible power distribution systems, and lighting systems and controls for the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, high-tech industrial, or technically related industries.
  • Experience working with Navisworks, EasyPower and/or other similar programs is required. Experience with AutoCAD & Revit programs is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience performing field verifications and site walks to identify, validate, resolve, and integrate solutions into design packages. Ability to troubleshoot design problems on-site during construction.
  • Professional knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), as well as working knowledge of the International Building Code, International Fire Code, and NFPA guidelines.
  • The ability to interface with customers to define scope of work and basis of design.
  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
