Job description

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of industrial experience to join our engineering team. This role focuses on the hands‑on implementation and execution of electrical design tasks required to deliver project deliverables on schedule and in accordance with project milestones.

The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who can translate electrical requirements into practical designs, execute schematic and PCBA development, troubleshoot hardware issues, and develop and perform verification and validation testing. The engineer will work closely with principal engineers, scientists, firmware/software engineers, manufacturing, vendors, and other cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, production‑ready solutions.

Success in this position means reliably executing assigned electrical engineering tasks and delivering high-quality design and test deliverables in alignment with project milestones. The engineer is expected to take ownership of assigned work, proactively identify risks and issues, communicate effectively across teams, and drive problems to resolution while maintaining strong engineering discipline and attention to detail.

Pay Range: $120,000- $165,000 Annually (DOE)

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement electrical subsystems for semiconductor metrology platforms, including high‑voltage power systems, analog/mixed‑signal circuits, and embedded components such as microcontrollers and FPGAs.
  • Drive PCBA development through simulation, schematic design, layout, prototyping, and validation, ensuring adherence to best practices and manufacturability standards.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including specifications, power budgets, and validation plans.
  • Work closely with principal engineers, scientists, and cross‑functional teams to meet project milestones and deliver reliable, production‑ready solutions.
  • Provide technical advice and contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of industry experience in electrical hardware design and development

Electrical Hardware Design:

  • Hands‑on experience implementing electrical hardware designs from requirements through schematic capture, component selection.
  • Strong fundamentals in analog, mixed‑signal, and digital circuit design, with experience in PCB/PCBA development, circuit simulation, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience in high‑voltage and/or low‑noise designs is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Altium Designer, including the ability to perform schematic capture and PCB layout design, is preferred. Candidates who can effectively supervise, review, and provide technical guidance on PCB layout are also highly desirable.
  • PCBA development, bring‑up, verification, and release.

Verification, Validation & Test:

  • Experience developing and executing hardware verification and validation plans, functional tests, test cases, and test procedures.
  • Ability to design test fixtures, use laboratory equipment, troubleshoot hardware, analyze test data, and document results.
  • Experience with Python or C# for test automation and data analysis is a plus.

Engineering & Professional Skills:

  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting methodology, with the ability to translate requirements into practical hardware designs and execute assigned deliverables according to project milestones.
  • Effective communicator who can work cross‑functionally with systems, firmware/software, manufacturing, and vendors.
  • Demonstrates ownership, attention to detail, a growth mindset, and a disciplined engineering approach.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing semiconductor capital equipment, metrology systems, or other precision instrumentation.
