Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for Data Centers / Mission Critical projects in Dallas, TX. This onsite role is a 6-month contract-to-hire engagement, with a pay rate of $85–$90/hour.

The ideal candidate will bring 11+ years of engineering experience, expertise in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit/BIM, strong leadership and mentoring abilities, and proven success in coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams on data-center projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• 11+ years of related engineering experience.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable codes, standards and design guides.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit/BIM.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings and technical designs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively with ambiguous scopes and changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working directly with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and/or technical teams.
• Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior-level engineers and designers.

Locations: Dallas, TX

Duration: 6 months Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Onsite, 5 days/week

Pay Rate: $85–$90/hour

• Understanding of data center redundancy and resiliency requirements.
• Familiarity with data center Tier rating systems.
• Advanced Autodesk Revit experience, including complex families and custom parameters.
• Experience with BIM 360, Navisworks, Revit Worksets, View Templates and Project Phasing.
• Experience leading project schedules, budgets and staffing.
• Professional Engineering (PE) registration or active pursuit of professional licensure.
• Experience supporting business development, proposals and client presentations.
• Strong leadership and mentoring experience.
