- M/E Engineering is currently interviewing for a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Schenectady, NY office. We are a full-service MEP engineering firm providing design and technology services to our clients. Responsibilities
- Possess a professional attitude showing interest in M/E's reputation and growth.
- Be a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of your assigned area.
- Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, adoption, and modification of standard techniques and procedures.
- Work with the Principal, Associate, or Project Manager to finalize the Project Scope and Schedule of deliverables, understanding the priorities.
- Apply advanced practices and techniques, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies, and follow projects through all phases including program, schematic, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction.
- Supervise, coordinate, and review work, schedule, and assign tasks to meet deadlines.
- Develop reports, studies, and system analyses.
- Work efficiently and effectively, making sound decisions.
- Evaluate applications of substitute equipment.
- Review final adjustments of equipment and systems after installation.
- Communicate directly with clients on non-controversial matters.
- Represent the firm at meetings and cover all trades, with follow-up as needed.
- Assist on projects with other engineers and designers.
- Estimate workforce needs, schedule, assign work, and update the project manager on status and resources.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and designers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Preferably hold a Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or be an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working towards P.E. licensing.
- Possess a Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree.
- Have at least eight years of responsible project design experience in the respective discipline, plus relevant courses, training, or seminars in Engineering and Management.
Compensation Range
- The compensation range for this position is $87,360 to $120,000 per year.
