Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced electrical engineer to design and optimize facility electrical/power systems, supporting construction and commissioning activities. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytic methods, problem-solving, and clear communication with management and clients.

Requirements include a BS in electrical engineering, 8+ years in power systems, EIT, and relevant code knowledge. Travel and U.S. citizenship may be required; senior roles add PE license and leadership experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited school.
  • 8+ years of experience in design and operation of facility electrical/power systems and controls.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Knowledge of current building codes and regulations, including NFPA, IBC, and UFCs.
  • Proficiency with power distribution systems modeling tools such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or analogous CAD programs.
  • Ability to work independently and on teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience developing project requirements and performing electrical calculations.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Current TS/SCI clearance issued by the U.S. government.
  • U.S. citizenship required for positions with technical responsibilities.
  • Senior-level alternative requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree, 12 years of experience, a PE license, leadership experience, mentoring, and project cost estimation experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, LEED AP accreditation, high power/utility infrastructure engineering, high-density data center design and operations, launch base infrastructure and facilities, SCADA/DCS, PLCs, and control-systems communications.

  • Deliver independent, data-driven technical recommendations to management and customers through verbal and written communication.
  • Develop test plans, interface control documents, and test procedures.
  • Travel to customer and/or government facilities while representing the company and department professionally.
  • For the senior level, lead project teams and mentor junior staff.
