We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on our hardware products with a cloud-based backend, helping transition ideas from prototype to production. The ideal candidate has experience with PCBA designs involving networking, sensing, and hardware interfacing, and is eager to improve existing products and develop new ones.
Note: This position is based in our Boston, MA office. Candidates must be available to work onsite at least three days per week.
Your Day-to-Day
- Investigate and propose design architectures for complex electrical systems.
- Work cross-functionally to develop reliable, high-quality products.
- Participate in all steps of electrical engineering processes, from specifications to product launch, including validation and support.
- Develop circuits and PCB designs, including power, high-speed, RF, and networking circuits.
- Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC requirements.
- Manage ECAD/EDA exports and ECO generation in the PLM system.
- Conduct electrical failure investigations using root cause analysis.
- Collaborate to develop requirements, specifications, and validation plans.
- Support the product lifecycle with electrical engineering expertise.
- Develop best practices for reliability and quality of electrical subsystems.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and co-ops.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 6+ years of industry experience in product development, sustaining, or tech exploration in Robotics, Networking, Sensing, IoT, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of circuit design, multi-layer PCBs, high-speed signaling, RF, and embedded systems.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer).
- Experience integrating electrical and mechanical components.
- Proficiency with signal acquisition and analysis tools such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, data loggers, spectrum analyzers.
- Experience with PCB bring-up, debugging, validation, and rework of SMT/TH components.
- Familiarity with DFM and DFT principles related to PCBA design and component selection.
- Knowledge of industry standards and compliance (e.g., FCC, CE, UL).
- Strong understanding of firmware fundamentals (C/C++).
- Ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented problem-solving and knowledge sharing skills.
- Experience in scaling startups is a plus.
- Availability to work onsite at least 3 days per week.
