Job summary

Form Energy is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Enclosure Electronics team in Berkeley, CA. The role focuses on developing electronic controls hardware for large-scale battery systems, spanning sensors, actuators and custom electronics, with cross-team collaboration and rapid growth.

You will design, prototype, validate, and troubleshoot electrical circuits, define interfaces, and document decisions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience bringing products from concept to production
  • Understanding of electrical design fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with PCB CAD tools (Altium or similar)
  • Familiarity with electrical lab tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
  • Some programming experience (Python, C/C++, Matlab)
  • Must be able to obtain US work authorization

Responsibilities

  • PCB design: schematic capture, PCB layout, board validation and manufacturing support

Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to our Enclosure Electronics team. You will be joining a team responsible for the development of electronic controls hardware for our large-scale battery systems comprising a wide variety of sensors, actuators and custom electronics. The role will expose you to interesting, multidisciplinary technical challenges spanning various teams at the company, from gas sensing to electrochemistry to high power electronics. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

What You’ll Do:
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, controls, and manufacturing engineers to develop effective and reliable electrical systems
  • PCB design: schematic capture, PCB layout, board validation and manufacturing support
  • Prototyping and validation of new electrical circuits and systems
  • Troubleshoot and root-case analysis systems down to the component level
  • Sensor selection, evaluation and interface definition
  • Clearly document design decisions, test results, and troubleshooting procedures

This is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $110.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
