Job summary

Magna is seeking a Senior Engineer – Electrical & Electronics to drive the development, evaluation, and industrialization of next-generation automotive EE systems in Troy, MI. The role bridges product development and manufacturing process innovation, focusing on EE architectures, power electronics, battery systems, embedded controls, and related technologies across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; master's/PhD asset.
Experience in automotive EE systems, power electronics, and embedded controls preferred.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and product industrialization.

Responsibilities

Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) across product development.
Improve manufacturability, quality, reliability, testability, scalability and cost efficiency of EE products.
Define process flows, tooling, automation strategies, inspection methods, and end-of-line test approaches.
Collaborate with design teams to incorporate manufacturing considerations early in development.
Support prototype builds, pilot production, and production readiness assessments.
Apply advanced manufacturing technologies (automation, digital tools) to optimize processes.
Provide technical leadership and communicate findings to stakeholders.
