Job summary

Guernsey is seeking a Senior Electrical Distribution Engineer PE to lead planning, design, and execution of electrical distribution projects, with mentoring of junior staff and client relationship support. This role requires PE licensure, 5–10+ years of experience, and a strong background in utilities.

You’ll oversee protection settings, coordination studies, and compliance with NESC, IEEE, and NEC, guiding teams from concept through commissioning while fostering client trust and project success.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5–10+ years of experience in electrical distribution planning and design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring junior staff.
• Experience with electric utilities, cooperatives, or similar clients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead distribution planning and design from feasibility through detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
• Provide technical oversight and quality control for work by junior engineers.
• Mentor and develop junior staff through technical guidance and coaching.
• Support client meetings and presentations, and assist in project planning and scheduling.
